I took these photos on the sixth day of my tour through the Northern Territory.

This is the Katherine River which, exploiting the natural faults in the rocks, carved out the Nitmiluk-Katherine Gorge Complex. 

This is the entrance to the Nitmiluk-Katherine Gorge Complex, commonly called the Katherine Gorge. 

This is another shot of the entrance of Nitmiluk-Katherine Gorge. 

This is the 2nd Gorge of the Nitmiluk-Katherine Gorge Complex. The deepest of the gorges, it is said to be the home of a potentially dangerous deity. 

This is the 2nd Gorge looking down river towards the 3rd Gorge. 

This is the 2nd Gorge looking up river towards the 1st Gorge. 

I observed this snake in a log on the way to Edith Falls. You can see his head if you look closely in the top right portion of the circle of the hollowed out stump. 

This is Edith Falls near Nitmiluk-Katherine Gorge where I went swimming. 

Just before we reached Darwin, we stopped at a pub where there was this guy, Charlie the Water Buffalo. This beast starred in the first 2 "Crocodile Dundee" movies and was stuffed following his death in 2000.
